Python Job: Python Software Engineer

An opportunity exists for a Software Engineer to join our Client Solutions team to help us systematise several insights generation processes that have been highly manual to date.

Successful candidates will probably have working experience in data engineering, specifically with Python and SQL. Experience with Python, SQL and CI/CD development practices and working knowledge of a cloud based delivery (we use AWS) will be essential.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining data pipelines for our production client dashboards, ML training loops and data operations workflows

• Working closely with the Client Strategists to support their activities with data transformations and new data sources

• Active pull request participation, branch management, code reviews etc

• Investigating bugs and performance issues and providing support to the data science teams

• Working closely with developers and product managers to ensure that data engineering requirements are implemented correctly and efficiently

• Being an active part of the group of engineers reviewing and making key tech design decisions, and coordinating work and operations on our platform architecture

• Sharing knowledge within the engineering team and applied scientists using presentations, demos and pair programming

• Keeping up to date with the latest evolutions in engineering best practice and technologies

Requirements

• Fluency in Python (Pandas and Numpy are essential)

• Knowledge of deployment in a cloud environment (AWS preferable)

• Experienced with SQL and Git

• Experience with API development & integration is a plus

• Nice to have - experience with containers and scheduling tools (we use Docker on ECS)

• Nice to have - experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins etc
